Wishing All of You Safe Holidays
The next Center Watch newsletter will not be out until next year, so we are asking that you continue practicing your safety and security measures to assure that we all have a safe and happy holiday season.
Toy Safety Tips Find out what toys your children are receiving, and take precautions. Can those toy parts be accidentally swallowed? Could they puncture skin? Are they fire-resistant? Read instructions with your children, and explain any safety rules that apply.
On the Road We all know the rule of having a designated driver to keep everyone safe. If you have recipes for alcohol-free drinks this is a great time to share them with others. You should also be cautious of others and drive defensively. Take into account unfavorable weather that creates driving hazards.
Don't fire Guns Don't celebrate by firing bullets into the air! What goes up must come down!
Q and A
Will there be Public Safety services for the Christmas Holidays?
The TUHSC Police operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year. We never stop patrolling, and you can count on it that all telephone calls will be answered by one of our staff members and not a machine. We are one of the few places you can count on for information and other assistance. Call 9 88-5531 at any time. Our emergency number is 9 88-5555 (on campus ext. 55555). Off campus emergencies should be dialed to 911.
IT'S BOWL TIME !
It's that time of the year that football takes over the city. Beginning Sunday December 21, 2007 the New Orleans Bowl featuring the Troy Trojans and the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles will take place in the Louisiana Superdome. Then on Friday 1/2/08 the Allstate Sugar Bowl game featuring the Utah and Alabama kicks off at 7:00 p.m. in the Dome. Please remember to pay attention to all street closures and parking instructions, you wouldn't want your evening to end at the impound yard!!
**Crime Alert** Crime ALert** Crime Alert**
On Friday 12/5/08 between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (4) complainants parked and secured their vehicles in the Saratoga Parking Garage levels 6 & 7. Upon returning to their vehicles the victims discovered that a window had been broken allowing entry into the vehicle. Upon inspecting the interior of the vehicles each complainant discovered personal property missing from inside. It should be noted that in each incident several items were located in plain sight within the vehicle upon the complainant's departure.
Please report all incidents or suspicious activity as soon as safety permits. Remember to travel in numbers whenever possible, utilize crosswalks, park in well-lit and populated areas, and to use the TUHSC Police 24-hours Security Escort Services. Stop at the lobby post or call 988-5531 for information and safety brochures. In case of EMERGENCY call 988-5555 or 55555 if on campus, and 911 if off campus.
