The primary purpose of the Tulane University Health Sciences Center Police Department (TUHSCPD) is to maintain social order within prescribed ethical and constitutional limits while providing professional law enforcement services to its customers. To attain this, TUHSCPD enforces the law in a fair and impartial manner recognizing the statutory and judicial limitations of police authority and the constitutional rights of all persons. TUHSCPD attempts to provide a secure environment in which the healing and educational processes may take place.

TUHSCPD recognizes that no campus law enforcement agency can operate at its maximum potential without the supportive input from the people it serves. TUHSCPD actively solicits and encourages the cooperation and support of all persons of the Tulane University Health Sciences Center community to decrease the opportunities for crime and to facilitate the maximum use of its resources.
