Utility Failure

In case of power outages during disaster situations, these procedures should be followed:

If you are trapped in an elevator during an electrical failure do not panic. TUHSC Police personnel will check all elevators after electrical failures and fire alarms.
Stay away from sparking electrical outlets, wires, or downed power lines.
When you smell a natural gas leak , or potentially dangerous odor notify TUHSC police at 55555 immediately, or when on Uptown Campus call 865-5200. Do not use devices that could cause sparks or flames.
Report low water pressure, particularly on upper levels of the taller buildings so TUHSC Police can initiate Fire Watch Patrols when necessary.
If possible shut off gas, electricity, and air handling systems during gas leaks or utility related problems or failures.
